I recently hired Molly Maids to clean my home in preparation for my husband’s 65th birthday party. Due to my arthritis, I needed assistance with cleaning tasks that involve bending and twisting. On August 2, 2024, estimator Mikayla Shaw arrived to provide a quote. She was polite and mentioned that my house was fairly clean, despite my limitations, which was reassuring. She quoted $345 for cleaning the upstairs area (894 square feet), including the stove, estimating it would take 1-3 hours with a team of two or 1-2 hours with a team of three. She also provided a monthly cleaning quote of $155.
Unfortunately, the cleaning crew was late on the scheduled day, and I had to reach out to them as they did not notify me of the delay. Upon their arrival, I informed them that I would be in the basement. The team of two spent a total of 2 hours cleaning. However, they did not clean the third bedroom, citing that the bookcase was wobbly, which prevented them from making the bed or cleaning the blinds, ceiling fan, etc. I am unsure why a wobbly bookcase would prevent them from cleaning the bedroom. Additionally, they failed to clean the kitchen and stove as quoted, and did not wipe down the pictures on the walls or the bookcase in the living room.
I expressed my dissatisfaction through calls and texts and was told the franchise owner would contact me the next day. When I spoke with the owner, he informed me that his crew spent extra time in the bathroom due to mold in the shower. He talked over me and seemed to have already made up his mind based on his crew’s report of the issues that they encounter during cleaning, he informed me that his crew sent him pictures of the house, and when I asked to see the pictures, he informed me that there were actually 4 crew members cleaning the house, he stated there was two crew members the first hour, and two other crew members arrived after the first hour.
When I continued to express my dissatisfaction, the owner agreed to refund $100. However, upon further reflection, I believe that, given the incomplete cleaning services provided, a refund of $172.50 would have been more appropriate.
The franchise owner should prioritize listening to his clients and not rely solely on his crew’s reports. It would have been beneficial for him to discuss the situation with Mikayla, who conducted the initial walkthrough of the house. If there were indeed four crew members present, they should have been able to complete the quoted tasks efficiently, given their professional status and the fact that the bathroom is small and did not require 4 crew members to clean. The owner showed me pictures purportedly sent by his crew; however, these images were not of my house. My shower has charcoal tile walls, and there was no mold. The discoloration observed is due to high iron levels in my water supply, which, when combined with soap scum, forms a rusty orange deposit that can easily be removed with white vinegar.
The quote was high, but I understand that businesses may provide higher quotes based on the area.
Overall, my experience with Molly Maids was disappointing. The lack of communication, incomplete cleaning, and poor customer service left me totally dissatisfied. I would not recommend them and I hope that Mark will take accountability responsiblity for his crew and improve his services and customer relations in the future.
Mark, the communication was not open and honest, as you were not open to hearing my experience, and you are still insisting that cleaning my house was a challenge instead of holding your crew accountable for incomplete cleaning, I stand by my experience and review,
what happened to satisfaction guarantee, you never offered to send a team to fix the issue, nor did you care about my experience, when I informed you that I was no longer interested in monthly cleaning you did not appear to be affected by losing a client. BTW, I attached photos so everyone can see how cleaning my house was challenging according to you.

Our two cleaners were absolutely fantastic. They communicated well and went above and beyond. The office also communicated quickly and efficiently of any change to the details of our service to either update or let us give the ‘ok’. I couldn’t be happier with the service provided. We have been using Molly Maids for 3 years now and it has been wonderful! We love Katie and her team. She always goes the extra mile, treating our house like it’s her own. She also remembers the little things that I mention which makes me happy. We really appreciate her! PS- our dog is also pretty obsessed with the team, and as I understand, the feeling is mutual! 🐾♥️

The team who came to our house were friendly and did a great job cleaning! They were punctual and professional can’t wait to have them back. Office staff is amazing as well very professional and accommodating to customers.

First time I’ve used Molly Maid and it was such a great experience! They were fast & efficient and thorough. Day before hosting a bridal shower and I have so much more time. Highly recommend!
