Please make sure the groomer and you completely understand your request for your dog’s haircut. If you are not sure, please have them show you a photo of what to expect for what they are describing to do your dog. We had a BIG misunderstanding. They were very nice but I was devastated.
I asked to have my Collie trimmed and a bit more under his tail. This is my second Collie over the past 18 yrs and have never experienced what happened there ever before.. My Collie was shaved down to 1 inch everywhere 😳. I was told by the breeder NEVER shave a Collie as it will ruin their coat. She has been breeding championship Collies for 40 years and is an AKC judge.
This happened in Aug and finally in Nov he is stating to look more like a rough coat Collie.
Here are photos of before and after.

I took my big cat to get a sanitary shave and nail clip. He has had a very hard time in the past with this, so I was a bit worried. But I didn’t need to! He was in and out in less than 10 minutes and they said he was a breeze! I’m so impressed! And the price was SO reasonable! Will be a customer for a long time now!

This is what $102 haircut with Allison looks like. I have spent the last couple weeks trimming all the hair that she missed. I’m guessing she rushed through the haircut and the clippers didn’t get all the hair and she did not check her work. I have spent the last couple weeks re-cutting my dog’s hair. I called the salon to address it because this is a new groomer to me (only second haircut) and my dog is almost 5 years old and has never been returned to me like this after being groomed. The receptionist, who answered the phone was quite nice and apologized and told me that they would either refund my money or Allison would redo it. When Allison got on the phone, she told me that she would have to bathe my dog to re-cut her hair and she would have to charge me for that. I said I will not be charged anything for you to fix the haircut that I already paid for that wasn’t done. She then told me that our mutual friend, who worked at the salon, told her the haircut looked nice that day, so everything should be fine. Then she argued that my dog had mats. Yes, my dog has curly hair and mats easily, but I asked her what do mats have to do with you not cutting all of her hair? She did not have a response to that. Allison was rude and aggressive, and wanted to argue with me. She even said “ I did a good job on your dog.” I wanted the haircut fixed, however I’m not going to bring my dog to someone who is rude, aggressive, and condescending. Why would I have any reason to believe you’re going to be nice to my dog? She refused to give my money back even though I was told that was an option when I spoke to the person before her. I told her I could post a review and pictures on google and her reply was “I don’t care, I have tons of clients and people on the internet who will back me up, so go ahead.” Since she challenged me to do that and stands behind this being a good haircut, please see for yourself. The owner Megan did call me and was nice and offered to recut my dog, however I don’t want to drive to another city to have that done and I don’t have trust in Allison to bring my dog back to her. I have filed a dispute with my bank and sent the pictures to them as well. I have no problems paying $100 for a good haircut. This, this I could have done myself and done a better job.

Sitting Pretty has been a staple of the community for years, and I have been going here with my dog for around a decade. You can expect friendly staff and decent prices for dog sitting as well as salon options.
They even offer a very limited but decent selection of dog goodies at the front of the store for anyone just stopping by. Nothing on the scale of a pet store, but perfect for someone who wants to pick up a few treats for their little friend.
